The Dance Research Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1970 for the purpose of advancing public knowledge and appreciation of the arts of dance and dance criticism.
For many years, the Foundation published Ballet Review, a premier dance journal which covered all aspects of dance. Founded in 1965, Ballet Review published its final issue, Volume 48, Numbers 1 & 2, in August 2020. At this time, the Foundation continues to disseminate information regarding Ballet Review and works to facilitate the distribution of back issues. Future projects of the Foundation include the digitization of all back issues of Ballet Review, with the aim of making the journal available on-line for everyone to read, at no charge.
The Dance Research Foundation, Inc., is supported in part by funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, The Fan Fox and Leslie R.
